ISLAMABAD: Mousa Al Tamari’s second goal from a one-two combination was more a reaction to a missed opportunity coming his way on penalty. In a post-match media talk, responding to ‘The News’ question, Mousa said he was upset at missing the penalty.

“It was an easy opportunity coming my way to score the third goal. Keeper however saved it, stretching fully to his right. Once I missed that, I was looking to make amends. I knew I would get a chance. When it finally I made my move with the help of my partner and scored it the way I wanted to.” He said he enjoyed his game here.

“Surely we were expecting some more goals against Pakistan in the first leg. We would try to do that in the returned match four days later,” he said. Pakistan goalkeeper Yousaf Ijaz Butt saved no less than five sure goal-scoring opportunities and even made it difficult for the Jordan team to get easy access in the striking circle. He said he tried his best to check the goal-scoring.
