RAWALPINDI: Pindi Cricket Stadium will be upgraded to international standards ahead of the start of Champions Trophy early next year.

The decision was taken during Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi’s early Wednesday visit to the stadium where he inspected all the available facilities and ordered for up-gradation at the earliest.

PCB Chief Operating Officer (COO) Salman Naseer was asked to direct the concerned to prepare the up-gradation plan at the earliest. The PCB chairman was also unhappy on the facilities available for the spectators and also ordered upgradation of these facilities at the earliest.

“The facilities available in each enclosure for the spectators are not up to the mark. These required an urgent uplift to make these facilities at par with international standards.” He also directed to the PCB’s concerned department to install permanent chairs at each enclosure rather making temporary arrangements.
